Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Friday while expressing concern over incident of target killing in Kashmir valley has demanded the central government to end the atmosphere of terror at the earliest and take strict action against the culprits.

She also expressed sympathies for Congress president Sonia Gandhi testing Covid positive and has prayed for her speedy recovery.

Mayawati tweeted, "Innocent people are being killed every second day in Jammu and Kashmir. Recently, a bank manager, who was a resident of Rajasthan, was killed, which is very sad and also worrying. Due to this there is an atmosphere of terror there. The central government should take strict action against such guilty elements, this demand of BSP."

In another tweet she said, "I pray to nature for the speedy recovery of working president of Congress Sonia Gandhi, who is reported to be suffering from Corona."

It may be noted that there has been an increase in the incidents of target killing of the people of a particular religion in recent days in the Kashmir valley.

While a bank manager was shot dead on Thursday, a migrant worker was shot in the evening.
