Two killed, six hurt as car rams into stationary lorry in Tamil Nadu

Chennai/UNI: Two persons were killed and six others injured when the car in which they were travelling lost control and rammed into a stationary lorry at Arumbakkam bypass near Tindivanam in Tamil Nadu early on Monday.

Police said a total of eight persons, including the driver, were in the car and they were proceeding to Puducherry from Chennai when the accident occurred.

When the car reached near Tindivanam, the driver Murugan lost control and rammed into a stationary lorry. He died on the spot.

Police swung into action and shifted the rest seven injured persons, who are from Murugabakkam, to the Tindivanam government hospital.

However, Murugan’s mother Shanthi succumbed to her injuries before reaching the hospital.

Tindivanam police are investigating.
