Presidential poll: Droupadi Murmu leads by huge margin against Yashwant Sinha in 2nd round of counting

New Delhi: Droupadi Murmu is leading against Opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha by a huge margin in the presidential polls having secured 1,349 votes of the 1,886 valid votes cast by MLAs from 10 states counted so far in the second round of counting. 

Sinha has received 537 votes.

According to the formula applied to calculate the value of votes in the presidential election, the value of these votes is 1.49 lakh. Of that, Murmu got just over 1.05 lakh, and Sinha 44,276.

The MPs' votes have been counted and the counting of votes cast by MLAs is underway.

After the first round of vote counting of all MPs, Droupadi Murmu received 540 votes while Yashwant Sinha secured 208 votes, said returning officer PC Mody.

Fifteen votes  were declared invalid.

According to the formula used to calculate the value of votes in presidential polls, the value of the votes is 5,23,600. The value of votes received by Murmu is 3,78,000 whereas the value of votes received by 1,45,600.
