Kolkata/UNI: West Bengal Industries minister and Trinamool Congress secretary general Partha Chatterjee was brought back to the city from Bhubaneswar Tuesday morning.

AIIMS did not admit Chatterjee as the illness was not serious.

After leaving Bhubaneswar at night, ED officials took Chatterjee by plane early in the morning and left for Kolkata.

The minister was accompanied by his lawyer and a doctor from SSKM.

Chatterjee remained silent when reporters posed questions at Bhubaneswar airport.

On the other hand, SSKM doctors said there is no difference between their report and that of AIIMS doctors at Bhubaneswar.

Chatterjee was flown to Bhubaneswar from Kolkata in an Air Ambulance Monday and admitted in the I-10 cabin of a private ward of AIIMS, Bhubaneswar.

The Calcutta High Court had permitted ED to take Chatterjee to Bhubaneswar by air ambulance to AIIMS on Monday for health check-up.

According to AIIMS Executive Director Dr Asutosh Biswas, the West Bengal Minister had no serious diseases and he has been advised to get discharged from the hospital.

AIIMS sources said ECG, Ultrasound and some blood tests were conducted as per the advice of the treating doctors and no such serious ailments were found in the tests and other diagnoses except some chronic ailments he had.

Earlier, the ED had approached Calcutta High Court to shift Chatterjee to some other hospital other than the state-run hospital and the court permitted ED to take him to AIIMS, Bhubaneswar.

ED interrogates Chatterjee on the seventh floor of the CGO complex. Arpita Mukherjee is also being questioned. Both may be interrogated face to face, an ED official said.

Lawsuits can also be filed under the Foreign Exchange Act.

After the arrest of Chatterjee and his aide Arpita Mukherjee, several properties in Baruipur are under the ED scanner.

This includes a garden house in Baruipur, the ownership of which is now heavily speculated.

Meanwhile, after the arrest of Chatterjee in the school recruitment corruption case, Congress state president Adhir Chowdhury demanded his removal from the ministry.

Chowdhury wrote a letter to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Chatterjee was sent to Enforcement Directorate (ED) custody for two days Saturday by a local court after his arrest in connection with the School Service Commission (SSC) recruitment scam.
