Sonali Phogat murder probe reveals aide extorted money in her name
A new finding in actor-politician Sonali Phogat's murder probe has revealed that her aide Sudhir Sagwan ran an extortion racket in her name.
He ran the racket through a shell company named Creative Agritech, through which he gave agricultural loans after taking money at cheaper rates from banks.
He then extorted money from borrowers in the name of Sonali Phogat and police, said media reports.
Reports also said that Sudhir Sagwan had provided the wrong password for Sonali Phoghat's locker.
He had told them about two passwords. One password was of 3 digits and the other was of 6 digits. Police sealed the lockers in the presence of Sonali Phogat's family members after they were unable to open the lockers with these passwords.
The Goa police on Friday seized Sonali Phogat's three diaries while investigating in Hisar for the past 5 days.
Sonali Phogat, 42, was brought dead to St Anthony Hospital at Anjuna in North Goa district on August 23 morning from her hotel. She died hours after partying at a Goa restaurant last week.
