Nepal Foreign Secretary to visit India next week
New Delhi/UNI: Foreign Secretary of Nepal Bharat Raj Paudyal will pay an official visit to India from Sept 13-14 at the invitation of India's Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Friday.
On Sept 13, the Foreign Secretaries will hold discussions on bilateral issues covering the entire range of multifaceted cooperation between India and Nepal, MEA said in a statement.
The Foreign Secretaries will be reviewing the progress on the various initiatives and announcements made during the recent high-level visit of Nepal Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba to India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Nepal, in April and May 2022, respectively, the ministry added.
India- Nepal relations are historic, multifaceted and marked by common cultural and civilisational ties, apart from mutual respect and trust.
India attaches the highest priority to its relationship with Nepal in accordance with its ‘Neighborhood First’ and ‘Act East’ policies.
Indian Army Chief Gen Manoj Pande recently paid a four-day visit to Nepal where he held a meeting with Nepal Army Chief Gen Prabhu Ram Sharma and also met the Prime Minister.
Gen Pande presented equipment along with light vehicles to the Nepali Army for augmenting their technical capabilities.
These high-level visits of senior government functionaries provide an opportunity to take stock of the existing bilateral ties and strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
