'Congress is finished... nobody cares about their questions': Arvind Kejriwal to reporter in Gujarat

Ahmedabad/IBNS: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal Tuesday refused to respond to an allegation levelled by the Congress questioning the country's oldest political party's existence as he gears up to take on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's backyard, poll-bound Gujarat.

A reporter Tuesday asked Kejriwal to respond to a Congress leader's allegation that the Punjab government is spending crores of money in ads for Gujarat.

In reply, Kejriwal, who is also the Delhi Chief Minister, said, "The Congress is finished. Stop taking their questions. People are clear about this. Nobody cares about their questions."

After decimating Congress in Punjab polls earlier this year, Kejriwal's AAP is spirited to take on the BJP in Gujarat, where the saffron party has been ruling for years.

Though the Congress had offered a close contest with the BJP in the last assembly elections in Gujarat, the grand old party has gradually lost its footprint in the political map of India with every passing year.

The AAP is at the loggerheads with the BJP in recent times after Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was raided by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the liquor policy of the national capital.

The AAP has accused the BJP of playing political vendetta ahead of the Gujarat polls, which are scheduled to be held in late 2022.
