Police seize 45 kg of ganja from Assam’s Hojai railway station

Guwahati: Police seized a huge quantity of ganja and arrested six traffickers at Hojai railway station in Assam’s Hojai district.

Based on secret information, police launched operation at Hojai railway station and during checking police recovered and seized 14 packets containing 45 kg of ganja from Dibrugarh-Mumbai LTT Express train and apprehended six persons.

“We recovered and seized 45 kg of ganja from the train and apprehended six persons. The apprehended traffickers were carrying the ganja from Dimapur in Nagaland towards Bihar,” Tapan Medhi, police official of Hojai police station said.

The apprehended persons were identified as Parimal Sarkar, Naruttam Das, Haradhan Debnath, Krishna Chikari, Hirak Das and Samiran Das.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered at Hojai police station in connection with this.
