Reliance Hospital gets bomb threat, Ambanis also get death threat: Police
Mumbai: An unidentified caller has threatened to blow up Sir H N Reliance Foundation Hospital in south Mumbai and also issued threats against some members of the Ambani family, the owner of Reliance Industries, media reports said.
Police said the caller called the hospital's landline number at 12.57 pm from an unknown number, a report in the media said.
An FIR has been registered at DB Marg police station against the unidentified person and an investigation is on into the matter, he added.
A Reliance Industries Limited spokesperson said, “At 12.57 pm today and again at 5.04 pm October 5th, a call was received at the call centre of Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital threatening to blow up the hospital and threatening to take the lives of Mukesh Ambani, Nita Ambani, Akash Ambani and Anant Ambani. The caller also threatened to blow up Antilia and gave multiple threats to members of the Ambani family.”
“A police complaint has been registered and we are providing all the necessary details to the police in their investigations,” the statement added.
This is not the first time that the Ambanis have received threat calls.
In August, a jeweller was arrested after he allegedly called up the hospital and threatened to kill Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani and his family.
In February 2021, a sports utility vehicle (SUV) loaded with explosives was found near the Ambani residence 'Antilla'.
In the case, several people were arrested, including then police officer Sachin Waze.
