Kolkata/IBNS: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a chargesheet against arrested Trinamool Congress (TMC)'s Birbhum district president Anubrata Mondal in connection with the cattle smuggling case, media reports said.

The CBI has said the probe has found Mondal along with ther accused in the case ran a racket to procure and transport cattle across the international border.

The probe agency claimed in the chargesheet as reported by The Indian Express, "Md. Enamul Haque had allegedly paid huge money to Shri Anubrata Mondal through other accused.

"During the period 2014-18, Anubrata Mondal had allegedly accumulated huge properties in and around Bolpur and Kolkata in his name and family members by using illegal cash received in cattle smuggling."

Mondal, the right-hand man of West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee, was arrested from his residence in August after he non-cooperated with the CBI in the case.
