Delhi Police have arrested a Chinese woman on the allegation of spying on senior officials of Indian government departments and Ministries.

A team of Special Cell of the Delhi Police has arrested the accused on the suspicion of passing secret information to China, reports The Statesman.

According to a police official, the accused has been identified as Chai Rau, 44, who is said to have been living in Delhi for the past two years by hiding her name and nationality, reports the newspaper.

Police have recovered a passport of Nepal and a citizenship certificate issued by the Government of Nepal from her.

A certificate, issued in the name of Dolma Lama, has the photo of the arrested woman affixed on it, reports the newspaper.

The woman was produced in court and has been sent to 14-day judicial custody.

An investigation has been initiated in connection with the matter.
