Two men have been arrested by Noida Police for allegedly placing a hidden camera in a hotel room and filming a couple's intimate moments. After the case came to light, OYO Rooms has started an internal probe, media reports said.

The two accused, Vishnu Singh and Abdul Wahab, had booked a room in the hotel located in the Phase 3 police station area last month and installed a hidden camera before checking out, according to a report in the media.

A week later, they booked the same room and took the camera out and found recorded in it a couple in intimate condition, officials said.

Additional DCP (Central Noida) Saad Miyan Khan said the accused made extortion attempts, threatening the couple to release the video online, according to the reports.

Police are also questioning the hotel staff but so far, no proof of the involvement of the hotel staff has emerged

The police official said that other people, who may have stayed in the same room, are being contacted to learn if any of them also received extortion calls, according to the report.

The media report said that OYO Rooms has started an internal probe.

OYO does not operate any hotels or guest houses it only lists verified properties on its platform and provides IT-based support to them.

Police said an FIR has been lodged under IPC Sections 420,386,506,467, 468, 471 and 120B and further investigation is underway, the report stated.
