ED summons Anubrata Mondal's daughter Priyanka to appear at its Delhi office on Nov 2
Kolkata/UNI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned incarcerated Trinamool Congress leader Anubrata Mondal's daughter-Priyanka Mondal-at its Delhi office on Nov 2 in relation to the alleged cattle smuggling case, in which her father is one of the prime accused, official sources said here on Friday.
West Bengal ruling TMC's Birbhum district president Anubrata Mondal is now in judicial custody after the CBI arrested him from his village home on Aug 11 last.
Sources said the ED, probing the money trails of the cattle smuggling case, has also summoned three more accused, including Chattered Accountant Manish Kothari, who is also close to Mondal and looks after the accounts of the TMC leader, businessman Rajib Bhattacharya, also a close to Mondal and another person.
The summon to the four persons happened after the ED reportedly quizzed Saigal Hossain, at its Delhi office lately, sources added.
Sources said all four have been asked to produce several documents during the time of interrogation.
The wife of the arrested Saigal Hossain, the former security man of Mondal, has been also summoned by the federal agency at its Delhi office on Oct 30.
Sources said the ED wanted to know the sources of income Priyanka Mondal, who allegedly amassed property in the last few years.
Sukanya Mondal, a primary school teacher in Birbhum district, had skipped ED's summon in the New Delhi office on October 27 last.
She also allegedly avoided meeting a team of CBI officers who had gone to her Bolpur residence in August in connection with the investigation into the cattle smuggling scam.
