BJP and Congress have husband-wife relationship: Arvind Kejriwal accuses ahead of Gujarat polls

New delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress of colluding against his party ahead of Gujarat Assembly polls.

"BJP and Congress have husband-wife/ brother-sister relationship. I heard an interview by Amit Shah yesterday where he too is saying the contest is only between BJP and Congress and Congress is also playing with that narrative...the Congress is like BJP's wife...they are totally in BJP's pocket," Kejriwal told NDTV.

He said people in Gujarat are tired of the BJP-rule in the state in the past 27 years.

" People are tired after 27 years of BJP rule in the state. But people are looking for a change," he said.

Speaking on Gujarat's Chief Ministerial candidate of AAP, he said: "Kejriwal has not chosen Isudan Gadhvi as the Chief Minister's face. It is the people who have chosen him. We did a poll campaign and the one who got most votes was made the Chief Ministerial face."

He said people in Gujarat will get free electricity if his AAP came to power.

"Price rise is the main problem today. I had announced that everyone in Gujarat will get free electricity. The two other parties do not have the courage or ability to make such an announcement," he said.

The Election Commission of India on Thursday announced Gujarat, which is also Prime Minister Narendra Modi's homestate, will go to polling in two phases on Dec 1 and Dec 5.

The results will be declared on Dec 8.
