Gujarat: Arvind Kejriwal targets BJP govt over Morbi mishap, asks 'why bridge renovating co. owner not arrested?'
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in poll-bound Gujarat over the recent Morbi bridge collapse that claimed over 140 lives, questioning why the bridge renovating company's owner was not arrested.
Addressing a massive roadshow in Rajkot, Kejriwal ramped up his attack on the BJP saying, "I want to ask people whether the owner of the company, which renovated the bridge, should be arrested or not?
"The owner has also not been named in the FIR. Why is there an attempt to save the company and its owner?"

In this context, Kejriwal appealed to the voters to elect his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which currently rules Delhi and Punjab, to power for the next five years.
"You have given 27 years to the BJP. Give us only five years. If we don't work, we will not ask for any vote after five years," the feisty politician said.
At least 143 people died after the British-era hanging bridge collapsed a week ago when hundreds of people thronged to perform Chhath Puja.
As per reports, the bridge, which was renovated days before the mishap, was reopened without the fitness certificate.
Meanwhile, the AAP has already announced its Chief Ministerial candidate in the form of former television anchor and social activist Isudan Gadhvi.
In a bid to differentiate his party from the saffron camp, Kejriwal on Monday appealed to people to cast their vote in favour of the AAP, which is aiming to uninstall the 27-year-old BJP rule which had Congress as its main opponent for all these years, if they want development.

"I am an honest, educated person, an engineer. I don't know about politics and hooliganism. I only know how to make schools, hospitals, roads.
"If you want hooliganism, corruption and politics, then vote for them (BJP). But if you seek schools, hospitals, roads, electricity, water, then vote for me, I will do those," Kejriwal said.
The Election Commission of India last week announced the two-phase Gujarat elections which are scheduled to be held on Dec 1 and 5.
The results will be declared on Dec 8.
