Bengal teachers' recruitment scam: 2014 TET aspirants hit streets, scuffle with Kolkata Police
Kolkata/IBNS: Hundreds of Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) aspirants, who had cleared the exam in 2014 but has not got the job yet, staged protest in Kolkata's busy Exide Crossing and Camac Street areas on Wednesday late afternoon.
Demanding immediate appointment from the 2014 TET panel, a section of protesters agitated and tried to block the street at Exide Crossing while another section attempted to go to TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee's office at Camac Street.
When police tried to stop the protesters, they engaged in a scuffle with the cops at both locations.
Few agitators were reportedly injured during the scuffle.
A heavy police force were deployed to the area who dispersed the protesters and detained many of them.
Due to the protest, traffic movement was partially hit for nearly an hour at the area.
