Former bureaucrat Arun Goel appointed Election Commissioner
New Delhi: Retired IAS officer Arun Goel has been appointed the Election Commissioner of India.
In a communique, on Saturday, the Ministry of Law and Justice announced, "The President is pleased to appoint Arun Goel, IAS (Retd) as the Election Commissioner in the Election commission with effect from the date he assumes the office."
He is an IAS officer of the 1985 batch.
He will join Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar and Election Commissioner Anup Chandra Pandey on the poll panel.
