'Shah Rukh Khan should watch this film with his daughter': MP Speaker amid Pathaan row

Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker Girish Gautam is the latest from the state to oppose Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming Hindi film Pathaan after its Besharam Rang song drew objections from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in view of actor Deepika Padukone's bikini.

In a sarcastic message to Shah Rukh, Gautam said as quoted by NDTV, "Shah Rukh should watch this film with his daughter, upload a picture and tell the world that he is watching it with his daughter.

"I challenge you to make a similar film on the Prophet and run it."

Maharashtra Home Minister Narottam Mishra was the first from the state to object to Deepika's saffron-coloured bikini in the song, which has a sizzling chemistry between the two massively popular actors of the country.

Though not directly, Shah Rukh sent out a strong message in disguise of his play of words from the inauguration stage of 28th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) last week.

At the end of his well crafted speech, Shah Rukh said, "... I have no objection in saying that whatever the world does, people like us, who are positive, are alive."

Pathaan is slated for Jan 25, 2023 release.
