Maharashtra: Hindutva organisations demand 'anti-Love jihad' law
Sangli (Maharashtra): Various Hindutva organisations of Sangli district on Saturday took out a huge "Hindu Garjana'' morcha from Ram Mandir Chowk of the city and demanded 'anti-Love jihad' and anti-conversion laws in the Maharashtra.
Hundreds of people, including women, gathered at Ram Mandir Chowk under the leadership of Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) MLA Sudhir Gadgil, wearing 'Bhagva Topi' and carrying 'Bhagva Jhanda' began their morcha shouting slogans against 'love jihad' and conversion.
Their slogans included 'Love jihad' virodhi Kayada Zalac pahije' (a legislation against love jihad' should be made at the earliest), they also swore not to let 'Shradha Walkar' type incidents happen again in the future.
After passing through the main streets including Panchmulhi Maruti, Rassala road, Kapad Peth, Ganpati Mandir, City police station, the morcha reached the district collector office and a delegation met district collector and handed over a memorandum of their demands.
