Amit Shah slams Congress, JDS as 'dynastic parties', seeks support for BJP in Karnataka's Mandya
Mandya (Karnataka)/UNI: Terming Janata Dal (Secular) and Congress as dynastic parties and highly corrupt, Union Minister Amit Shah on Friday urged people to ensure a clean sweep for the party in Mandya district.
"Enough is enough as there is always repetition between JDS-Congress and Congress-JDS. This time we all have to ensure a clean sweep for the Bharatiya Janata Party in Mandya district. JDS and Congress are dynastic parties, they are highly corrupt parties," he said addressing a massive rally here.
Congress and JDS are promoters of casteism and also a safe haven for criminals and anti-social elements, Shah said.
"When the Congress government was formed in Karnataka, it became an ATM for Congress' Delhi leadership. And when JDS comes to power in Karnataka, the state becomes an ATM for one family," he said.
The Siddaramaiah government in the state withdrew cases against 1,700 PFI cadres, but it was the BJP government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership that banned PFI and put all anti-national elements in jails, Shah said.
"Both the parties and their governments were highly corrupt who worked to stop development works in Karnataka. Now the time has come to once again stop the Congress and JDS and give BJP full majority to run the government in the state," he said.
Shah said the Congress government committed the sin of torturing and ignoring tribals and Dalits, whereas the BJP government ensured their empowerment and upliftment.
"Recently the Narendra Modi Government included the Betta Kuruba Community under ST thus giving thousands of them the benefits of ST," he said.
Shah said PM Modi has ensured total transformation of all major centres of faith and culture and given them a totally new look. "He has taken our religion and culture to newer heights," he said.
In Karnataka, former CM BS Yeddyurappa gave additional Rs 4000 per annum to farmers in addition to financial help given by the Modi government under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna, Shah said.
"Karnataka farmers are getting Rs 10,000 every year as financial aid and so far Rs 18000-plus crores have been disbursed to lakhs of farmers in the state," he said.
Shah said the Congress never did anything for Mysuru and Mandya regions, but the BJP government constructed the Mysuru-Bengaluru expressway. "Our government also restarted the closed sugar factory," he said.
Shah said the Modi government gave Rs 1100 crores to Karnataka for a micro-irrigation scheme.
Similarly, a massive increase of 58 per cent has also been done in the state budget for small irrigation projects, he said.
Also, around 3 lakh hectares of additional land have been provided with irrigation facilities in the state, Shah said.
Yeddyurappa and CM Basavaraj Bommai have allocated over Rs 13000 crores in three years to win the honour of running the government for the farmers, he said.
"The two Chief Ministers have also attracted investments worth over Rs 2.80 lakh crores for the state to make Karnataka a fast developing state in the country," Shah said.
Under Bommai's rule, Karnataka has been adjudged by the Niti Ayog as the most innovative state under the India Innovative ecosystem, he said.
The railway budget for the state has also seen a massive increase of 629 per cent and Karnataka is on a fast track of growth and development under the double engine government of the BJP under the leadership and guidance of PM Modi, he added.
