'I consider BJP my guru, they train me on what not to be done': Rahul Gandhi
New Delhi/IBNS: In a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Saturday called the ruling party his "guru" as "they train me on what not to be done".
Addressing the media at the Congress headquarters in Delhi, Gandhi said, "I want them (BJP) to attack us aggressively. This will help the Congress party understand its ideology. I consider them (BJP) my guru.
"They are showing me the way and training me on what is not to be done."
Apart from the dig, the Wayanad MP claimed that there is a strong undercurrent against the BJP-led government at the Centre and if the Opposition stands effectively with a vision it will become very difficult for the ruling party to win the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
"If the Opposition stands effectively with a vision, it will become very difficult for the BJP to win the election. There is a strong undercurrent against the BJP," Gandhi said referring to the 2024 general elections.
In response to a question on Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav's remark that BJP and Congress are same, the former Congress president said, "It is obvious that BJP and Congress can never be one. Congress and BJP are ideological opposites. This is his perspective. There should be mutual respect."
