Two militants killed in Kashmir encounter

Srinagar, Feb 28 (IBNS) Two militants were killed in an encounter at Tral in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said on Saturday.

Sources told IBNS that two militants were killed in the encounter, which broke out late Friday evening, at Rathsuna area of the southern town.

Based on specific intelligence about presence of two militants in Ratsuna Mohalla of Tral of South Kashmir, a joint operation was
launched by Rashtriya Rifles units of Army and the SOG which ended with the deaths of two militants.

Security forces identified the slain militants as from Hizbul Mujahideen outfit. They are Shabir Mir and Idris Ahd Shah.

A senior Army Official of the area told IBNS that subsequent search of the site of operation resulted in the recovery of two AK-47 rifles, 6
magazines of AK 47, 90 rounds of AK 47 and other warlike stores. The bodies of the slain terrorists were handed over to the police.

Earlier in the week two Hizbul Mujahedeen militants were killed and four army men were injured in an encounter in Shopian district in
South Kashmir.
