Varuna is still open for father: Former Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah's son
Bengaluru/UNI: Days after BJP's top leader BS Yediyurappa said Siddaramaiah will not contest from Kolar but from Old Mysuru region, LoP's son Yathindra Siddaramaiah raised an element of doubt by saying that his constituency Varuna is still open for his father to contest next assembly election from.
Yathindra's statement comes in the wake of some organisations printing handbills casting aspersions on Siddaramaiah.
"Will this be investigated? Such handbills were in circulation during the Chamrajpet Idgah Maidan row targeting Congress MLA," he said.
Replying to a pertinent question, KPCC Working President Eshwar Khandre said Siddaramaiah can contest from anywhere which will benefit districts surrounding the constituency.
Congress MLC Prakash Rathod said Siddaramaiah has been offered to contest from many constituencies, but the final decision will be taken by the party high command.
Earlier Yediyurappa had said that Siddaramaiah was rendering a drama to contest from Kolar, but may end up contesting from the Old Mysuru region, hinting at Varuna constituency.
"He is playing political circus and drama, according to me, he will not contest from there (Kolar) and may try to go back to Mysuru, if that happens, we will come up with a strategy," the Lingayat strongman had said.
