Himachal Pradesh: One dies,5 injured in road accident in Una dist

Hamirpur/Una (HP): One woman died and five were injured when their car had a head-on collision with another car coming from the opposite direction at Dangoli village of Una district Sunday.

The family of the deceased Vishno Devi was going for a pilgrimage to Deotsidh in Hamirpur district from Mukerian in Punjab when this accident took place, said an official spokesman.

All the injured have been admitted to Regional Hospital Una.

According to the information, on Sunday morning, a family of Punjab's Mukerian was going to Baba Balak Nath temple in a car to pay obeisance at Baba Balak Nath temple in which six people including driver Balwinder Singh were travelling.

Meanwhile, on the Una-Bangana main road near Dangoli, a white coloured car coming from Barsar hit the car coming from the opposite direction.

The collision was so strong that the front portions of both vehicles were totally damaged. Along with this, the airbags of both cars were also opened.

On receiving the information, the police team reached the spot and took the injured to Regional Hospital Una for treatment.

After this, the police gathered information about the causes of the accident from the spot.

A case of accident has been registered and further investigation is on, the spokesman said.
