Mumbai/UNI: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde assured that Mumbaikars will be provided with the facilities they deserve.
Shinde was speaking in the 'Sankalp Maharashtra' seminar organized by the Marathi news channel last night.
He said that, "Concrete road work is going on at a cost of Rs 6,500 crore to make the roads of Mumbai city free of potholes.
"Beautification is going on everywhere. Metro expansion is underway to ease traffic congestion, while coastal road work has been speeded up. Health facilities are being provided to citizens through 'Balasaheb Thackeray Aapala Dawakhana," he said.
Shinde said on this occasion, "Mumbai is the capital of Maharashtra. It is also the financial capital of the country. Tourists not only from the country but also from all over the world come to Mumbai city.
"Against this background, various development projects are being implemented. The widening of Mumbai-Goa highway has been accelerated. Dilapidated buildings will be developed in a planned way. The navigation of the coastal road has been improved for the convenience of the Koli brothers."
Funds are being made available for infrastructure facilities including railways through the central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
As our government is committed to the progress of the state and the common citizens, a world-class prosperity highway has taken shape, he added.
