New Delhi/IBNS: Navjot Kaur, the spouse of cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu, has been diagnosed with invasive cancer which is at stage 2.

On her Twitter account, she disclosed the information about her diagnosis. She wrote, "He (Navjot Singh Sidhu) is in prison for a crime he has not committed. Forgive all those involved. Waiting for you each day outside probably suffering more than you. As usual trying to take your pain away, asked for sharing it. Happened to see a small growth, knew it was bad."

She further wrote, "Waited for You, seeing you were denied justice again and again.Truth is so powerful but it takes your tests time and again. KALYUG.Sorry can't wait for you because it's stage 2 invasive cancer. Going under the knife today. No one is to be blamed because it's GODS plan: PERFECT."

In response to the tweet, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, the President of the Congress Party in Punjab, commented, "I'm sorry that you have to undergo surgery. Thankfully it was detected on time. Praying for your speedy recovery. Waheguru Mehar Karan."

Following his conviction by the Supreme Court in a 34-year-old case, Navjot Singh Sidhu has been incarcerated at Patiala Central Jail since May 2022.

In its ruling, the court emphasized that a lenient sentence would be detrimental to the justice system and erode public trust in the effectiveness of the law.

The case pertains to the death of a 65-year-old man named Gurnam Singh, whose demise occurred in the same incident.
