Narendra Modi meets Bhutanese King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, takes stock of progress in bilateral ties
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday held talks with visiting Bhutanese King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, during which both sides took stock of the progress in bilateral ties.
Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi in a tweet said: “Taking forward unique relationship of India- Bhutan friendship & cooperation."
“PM @narendramodi received His Majesty the King of Bhutan ahead of their talks," Bagchi tweeted.

Earlier in the day, the Bhutan King paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at the Rajghat.
The MEA spokesperson in a tweet said: “A tribute to Bapu’s lasting legacy!"

“His Majesty the King of Bhutan paid his respects to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat," he said.
The Bhutanese King is on a three-day official visit to India.
On Monday evening, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar received the King at the airport and later called on him at the hotel.
