New Delhi/UNI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said the AIIMS in Guwahati will boost Assam's health infrastructure and it will also help the entire northeast.

The Prime Minister during his visit to Assam on Friday will dedicate AIIMS Guwahati and three other Medical colleges to the nation, as per a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office.

In response to a tweet by Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya apprising that the PM will inaugurate AIIMS Guwahati on Friday, Modi wrote, "AIIMS in Guwahati will boost Assam's health infrastructure and also help the entire Northeast."

He also said it will make quality healthcare even more accessible.

"Ayushman Northeast! PM Narendra Modi Ji to dedicate to the nation AIIMS Guwahati, the first AIIMS of Northeast, on April 14," Mandaviya tweeted.

The operationalisation of AIIMS Guwahati will mark a momentous occasion for the state of Assam and the entire North-East region, the PMO said.
