Karnataka: BJP MLA Kumaraswamy quits BJP after being denied ticket
Chikkamagaluru/UNI: BJP MLA MP Kumaraswamy has quit from the primary membership of the party after he was denied a ticket for May 10 assembly election in Karnataka.
Kumaraswamy was aspiring to get a ticket from Mudigere assembly constituency in Chikkamagaluru district, but it was given to Deepak Doddaiah instead.
A court case against Kumaraswamy was reportedly a key reason for him being denied a ticket. In February, a special court had convicted him in a case related to bouncing of eight cheques.
Kumaraswamy is yet to reveal his next course of action. He said he would take a decision in this regard after a meeting with his supporters.
He also said that he is not a saint, and added that if BJP loses in Chikkamagaluru, CT Ravi must be held responsible for it.
"Without Yediyurappa BJP cannot win even 50 seats," he added.
