Police arrest Amritpal's aide who helped him hide in Uttar Pradesh's Pilibhit

Chandigarh: Police have arrested yet another close aide of fugitive Khalistan sympathiser Amritpal Singh for allegedly providing shelter and other assistance, media reported.

According to a report in the media, Joga Singh is a resident of Punjab’s Ludhiana and manages a ‘dera,’ police said, adding that he has been in direct contact with the absconding radical preacher.

The accused arranged for Amritpal’s stay in Uttar Pradesh's Pilibhit and also his return to Punjab, a senior official of Punjab Police said, the report stated.

The arrested aide was going to Punjab from Haryana.

Amritpal Singh, who has been on the run after police launched a crackdown on Waris Punjab De chief and his supporters on March 18.

On Friday, police also arrested two other supporters of Amritpal –Rajdeep Singh of Babak village in Hoshiarpur district and Sarbjit Singh of Jalandhar district—for allegedly providing him shelter.

According to media reports, Amritpal Singh has been changing his appearance and using different types of vehicles to ditch the police.
