Morena (MP): Six members of a family, including two women, were shot dead, while two others were injured over a decade-old land dispute in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena district, media reports said.

A shocking video of the incident has gone viral. In the video, several men carrying rifles can be seen shooting at a group of men after they were bludgeoned.

The incident occurred at Lepa village, approximately 50 to 60 km away from the district headquarters, around 10 am when Dheer Singh Tomar’s family launched an attack on Gajendra Singh Tomar's family.

Reports said citing police that both families had first clashed over dumping garbage on a land in 2013.

At the time two people from Dheer Singh Tomar's family had died in the violence, and Gajendra Singh Tomar's family fled the village.

The two families later settled the dispute out of court.

Today, Gajendra Singh Tomar's family returned to the village.

According to reports, Dheer Singh Tomar's family attacked them with sticks and shot them as per a premeditated plan.

Police said the motive behind the killing is an old enmity and the relatives of today’s victims have been accused of killing the family members of today’s alleged killers.

Eight individuals, who were allegedly involved in the murders, have been identified and a case against them is being registered, police said.
