Two militant associates of LeT arrested in Kashmir's Shopian

Srinagar/IBNS/UNI: Security forces on Tuesday arrested Lashkar-e-Taiba’s two militant associates in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district and recovered arms and ammunition from them, police said.

Police said the two were arrested during the investigation of a case registered at Shopian's police station.

“During the course of investigation of the case, police along with Army (44 RR), CRPF (14 Bn) arrested two terrorist associates linked with proscribed terror outfit LeT,” police said.

They were identified by police as Shahid Ahmad Lone of Chotipora Shopian and Waseem Ahmad Ganie of Borihalan Shopian.

Police said incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including a pistol, a pistol magazine, four pistol rounds, a silencer, an IED, a remote control, two batteries, an empty magazine of AK 47 rifle were recovered on their disclosure.

Earlier on May 2, police along with security forces arrested a militant associate of LeT Tanveer Ahmad Wani a resident of Daramdora Shopian during the probe of the case.
