'Aryan Khan was made accused at the last moment in drug case': CBI

Mumbai/IBNS: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Monday opposed the petition filed by former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) zonal director Sameer Wankhede in the Cordelia cruise drug bust bribery and said that Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan was made an accused in the last moment in the case.

In an affidavit filed before a vacation bench of the court, the CBI said Aryan Khan and his friend Arbaaz Merchant were named as accused in the 2021 Cordelia cruise drug bust case at the last moment by the Wankhede-led team.

The affidavit also says that the petitioner (Sameer Wankhede) made a "mountain out of a molehill in the case" after arresting Aryan.

Aryan was arrested by the NCB on October 3, 2021, following the alleged drug seizure on board the cruise ship.

He was granted bail by the high court three weeks later as the anti-drugs agency failed to substantiate its charges against him.

The CBI earlier filed a corruption case against Sameer Wankhede, who arrested superstar Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan in connection with the alleged drugs-on-cruise case two years ago.

Wankhede and others had allegedly demanded Rs. 25 crore bribe for not framing Aryan Khan in the alleged drug bust, said officials.
