Farrukhabad: Three children were run over by a train when they accidentally went on the railway track in Mohammadabad area of Farrukhabad district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Sunday.

Police sources said that the marriage of Gulshan, a resident of Shalampur under Bhogaon police station in Mainpuri district, was being held in Jajpur Banjara village on Saturday night.

"During the function three children Vinit (16), his cousin brother Hari Om (13) and Ritik (12), who came to attend the marriage, somehow reached Farrukhabad-Delhi railway track around 1:30 am," they said.

Police sources said that while moving on the track the three children were run over by a special train between Izzat Nagar to Mainpuri. "The bodies of the children were spotted by some women after which the police were informed about the incident," they said.

Inspector of Mohammadabad police station Amar Pal Singh said that the bodies were handed over to the family members after they refused to get the post mortem examination conducted.
