Arunachal Pradesh: Namsai District hosts successful C-20 Conclave

The recently concluded C-20 Conclave held in Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh has been hailed as a remarkable success, showcasing the district's rapid growth and emergence as a vibrant hub for conferences and summits.

With its beautifully designed welcome gate and vibrant decorations adorning the town, Namsai proved to be an ideal host for the international summit.

Under the theme of "Diversity, Inclusion, and Mutual Respect," the C-20 Conclave provided a platform for fruitful dialogue, knowledge sharing, and collaboration among civil society organizations from around the world, reported Arunachal24.

The event aimed to promote social and economic development with the vision of leaving no one behind, as emphasized by Arunachal Pradesh's Chief Minister, Pema Khandu.

Keynote speaker S Gurumurthy highlighted the significance of the C-20 Conclave as a people-to-people platform within the G-20 group, fostering the generation of innovative ideas through effective deliberations.

The seminar discussions focused on revitalizing culture, respecting indigenous traditions, and striking a balance between development and environmental sustainability.

While the importance of embracing diversity and mutual respect was underscored during the deliberations, questions arose about the path to achieving these goals amidst prevailing intolerance. Some participants expressed concerns that excessive emphasis on unity and oneness might erode individual cultures, which are fundamental to diversity and mutual respect.

Additionally, the impact of globalization and increased connectivity on the rise of such international summits like the G-20 was also deliberated upon.

One panelist classified cultures as "desert culture" and "river culture," suggesting that desert cultures lack diversity while river cultures, associated with sages and saints, are richer and more inclusive.

This classification raised questions about whether any culture can truly be devoid of diversity and whether such categorizations contradict the core principles of cosmopolitanism.

Addressing skepticism regarding the event's significance and resource allocation, it was emphasized that hosting such a prominent gathering itself is an achievement for Arunachal Pradesh.

While immediate tangible outcomes may not be evident, events like the C-20 Conclave broaden perspectives from local to global, provide valuable experience, and instill confidence in taking up greater responsibilities at the international level.

Furthermore, such events offer an opportunity for Arunachal Pradesh to showcase its rich heritage, traditions, and natural beauty to the global community.

Namsai District, known for its hospitality and ability to smoothly manage large-scale events, has become an exemplar for other districts to emulate. The District Administration, led by DC C.R Khampa, deserves commendation, as do the people of Namsai, who consistently rise to the occasion and embrace challenges and opportunities with open arms.
