Cairo: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday described his visit to Egypt as 'historic'.

Modi arrived in Egypt after completing his visit to the USA.
The two-day visit was the PM’s first visit to Egypt, and the first bilateral prime ministerial visit to Egypt from India in over two decades.
PM Modi, who was conferred Egypt’s highest civilian honour the ‘Order of the Nile’ by President El-Sisi, in a tweet expressed his gratitude.

PM Modi, who visited the Great Pyramids of Egypt along with his Egyptian counterpart Mostafa Madbouly, said the two leaders had a rich discussion on their respective countries’ cultural histories.

The PM had earlier visited the Heliopolis War Grave cemetery where he paid tribute to the Indian soldiers who died fighting in Egypt and Palestine during the first and second world wars.
