After remaining suspended for three days, the yatra resumed from Jammu on Tuesday.

The yatra was suspended due to repair work on roads damaged by rains at Ramban on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway.

An official said that a batch of 7245 pilgrims left the base camp in a convoy of 226 vehicles.

As many as 4101 pilgrims left for Pahalgam in a convoy of 125 vehicles, and 3144 pilgrims left for the Baltal in a convoy of 101 vehicles amid tight security arrangements.

Welcoming the pilgrims, Deputy Commissioner Ramban tweeted this morning that Amarnath pilgrims arrived at SASB Yatri Niwas at Chanderkote.

On Thursday, 16,061 Shri Amarnathji Yatris visited the Holy Cave and performed darshan, taking the total to 1,62,569 pilgrims who paid obeisance during this season till date, said an official.

He said that among the yatris who had the opportunity to visit Holy Cave were 12701 males, 2945 females, 236 children, 176 Sadhus, and 3 Sadvis.
