Abu Dhabi: Indian PM Narendra Modi on Saturday met UAE President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan when they discussed issues related to various aspects of bilateral ties.

The two leaders discussed issues related to trade & investment, fintech, energy, renewables, climate action, higher education and people to people ties.

MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted: "Deepening - Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. PM @narendramodi warmly welcomed by UAE President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the iconic Qasr Al Watan Presidential Palace."

"Extensive discussions between the two leaders covering various aspects of bilateral ties lie ahead," he said.

Modi, earlier in the day, arrived in Abu Dhabi after completing his visit to France.

Zayed tweeted: "I had the pleasure of welcoming Indian Prime Minister @narendramodi to Abu Dhabi today. We discussed the ongoing progress of our bilateral ties, our shared interest in promoting sustainable global growth, and ways to further boost collaboration between our countries & our people."
