'Family first, nation nothing for dynastic parties': Modi jibes at Opposition's Bengaluru meeting

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday called out 26 opposition parties, who are holding the second round of meeting to formulate strategies to trounce Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the 2024 General Elections, for their "dynastic politics" in a jibe at the congregation of the rival forces in Bengaluru for two days.

"In democracy, it is of the people, by the people, and for the people. But for the dynastic political parties, it is of the family, by the family, and for the family," PM Modi said while inaugurating the new integrated terminal building of Veer Savarkar International Airport, Port Blair.

Attacking the Congress, the Prime Minister said, "Family first, nation nothing. This is their motto... There is hatred, corruption, and appeasement politics."

"The country is a victim of dynastic politics. For them, only their family's growth matters, not that of the poor in the country," he said.

"Indians never lacked capabilities and capacities, but the corrupt dynastic parties always meted out injustice to them and made India bear the consequences," the PM slammed.

The Prime Minister's remarks came following the 26 opposition parties holding a meeting on the second day in Bengaluru on Tuesday to chalk out a joint strategy to take on the BJP unitedly in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

"When their misrule in any one state is exposed, then these people from other states immediately start giving arguments in its defence," the PM alleged.

"They have only one ideology and agenda, which is to save your family and increase corruption for the family," he said.

Talking about the recent raid on ED in Tamil Nadu, he said, "There are several cases of corruption now being exposed, but they (the opposition) have already claimed a clean chit."

Prime Minister Modi said on Tuesday that the people of the country have once again made up their minds to bring back our government in the 2024 elections.

"In such a situation, some people responsible for the plight of India have opened their shops and sat down," he added.

Prime Minister Modi said, "In the last nine years, we have not only rectified the mistakes of the old governments, but have also furnished new facilities and avenues to people."

"Today, a New Model of Development has been introduced in India. This is a model of inclusion, a model of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,' he added.
