New Delhi: Pakistani citizen Seema Haider, who has been in the news for her dramatic love story with her Indian partner Sachin Meena and for entering India without a visa, has filed a mercy petition with President Droupadi Murmu.

Seema has sought permission for herself and her four children to reside at her "matrimonial home" in Greater Noida with Sachin Meena, who stays in the Rabupura area of the city, a report in the media said.

In her plea, she has also requested an oral hearing from the president regarding her case. The petition, filed by Supreme Court advocate A P Singh on her behalf, was received at the President's secretariat on Friday, said the report.

As per media reports, Seema and Sachin claim to have made each other’s acquaintance while playing PubG in 2019-20, a popular online game. Subsequently, they started to talk over WhatsApp and Instagram and fell in love. Despite being married, Seema left her home with her four children and reached Nepal where she met Sachin in person. After living in Kathmandu for some days, she came to India on May 13, illegally, without a visa.

According to her petition, 30-year-old Seema Haider says that she is in love with Sachin Meena (22), a resident of Greater Noida, and states that she arrived in India with her four children to be with him. She also claims to have converted to Hinduism and got married to Meena through Hindu rituals at the Pashupatinath temple in Kathmandu, Nepal.

On July 4, Seema Haider was arrested by the local police for illegally entering India, and Sachin Meena was held for sheltering illegal immigrants. However, they were both granted bail by a local court on July 7 and have been living together, along with her four children, in a house in Rabupura.

Despite the ongoing investigation by the Noida police regarding her illegal stay in India and the questioning by the Anti-Terrorist Squad of Uttar Pradesh Police, Haider has filed a mercy petition with President Droupadi Murmu, seeking permission to stay with her partner, Meena, in her "matrimonial home" in Greater Noida.

The petition also requests an oral hearing from the president in her case.

Seema has stated in the petition that she does not wish to return to Pakistan and desires to continue living with Sachin.
