Nitish Kumar refutes speculations about contesting Lok Sabha elections from UP's Phoolpur
Patna/IBNS/UNI: Reacting sharply at reports of him contesting Lok Sabha elections from Phoolpur parliamentary seat in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar settled down the speculations by ruling out the same.
"These are baseless talks," he told the media after dedicating J.P. Ganga path phase two here on Monday.
Kumar said he only wished to unite the opposition political parties in the maximum numbers for which he was trying along with others.
Expecting more political parties to join the opposition band, Kumar said without taking the name of BJP, that some parties as of now were not joining the opposition camp as they are scared of the saffron party but the number will certainly increase in the future.
Kumar said that he would join the opposition's meeting slated in Mumbai.
Speaking about the caste-based census he said in Bihar it is in progress and the demand for the same was being made in some more states.
Replying to the query regarding the land acquisition controversy for Darbhanga AIIMS, Kumar said that the state government has already apprised the centre about the land with better road connectivity along with other facilities including the airport for setting up AIIMS in Darbhanga.
The state government has assured the centre to provide the land and construct a road along with developing necessary facilities, he said adding that the AIIMS developed at the selected place would pave the way for the development and expansion of Darbhanga.
Regarding the claims of the Prime Minister for completion of construction of Darbhanga AIIMS, Kumar said in the satirical vein that had it been constructed we would have welcomed it.
Reiterating his plans for the expansion of PMCH and DMCH, he said that his government has attained remarkable achievements in the field of health services and medical care.
