Security forces on Sunday arrested two Over Ground Workers (OGWs) of terror outfit Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) and recovered arms and ammunition from them in Jammu Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Police said on receipt of a specific input, a joint checking operation was established near Bus Stop Shirkwara by the Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu Kashmir Police and 52 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) on Sunday.

During checking, a suspicious movement of two persons coming from Wagoora Bridge side by foot was observed who tried to flee from the spot after seeing the security forces.

However, both were apprehended tactfully.

The duo were identified as Tawseef Ramazan Bhat and Moien Amin Bhat alias Momin, both residents of Bada Mulla, Sheeri Baramulla.

“A Chinese pistol with a magazine and 15 routes were recovered from the possession of Moien Amin Bhat and a hand grenade was recovered from Tawseef Ramazan Bhat. Both the persons are OGWs of LeT,” a police official told UNI.

“They further revealed that they were constantly in touch with LeT handlers and passed all the info to Pakistani terrorist handlers. They were about to get active as terrorists after carrying out an attack on security forces and targeted killings,” the police official said.

A case under the relevant section of the law was registered and an investigation set into motion, police said.
