Kolkata/IBNS: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) Tuesday questioned actor-turned-Trinamool Congress Lok Sabha member Nussrat Jahan for nearly six hours at its CGO Complex office at Salt Lake in relation to the alleged fund siphoning of buyers, who paid in advance to Seven Senses Infrastructure Pvt Ltd to purchase flats at New Town area of the city, official sources said.

Jahan came to the ED office after the central probe agency summoned her.

The 33-year-old Bengali cinema actress, who represents Basirhat Lok Sabha seat in North 24 Parganas, was seen coming out from the CGO Complex after about six hours ED grilling, who are probing the money trails of the alleged scam.

"I have already said (ED) whatever was asked and answered everything," Nusrat Jahan told media persons at the CGO Complex campus.," Jahan said.

The ED registered a case against Jahan in relation to her alleged association as one of the directors with a suspected shady financial entity that allegedly duped many senior citizens by promising them residential flats in New Town.

However, another accused Rakesh Singh, also a director of the company did not appear as per ED summons on Monday, sources said.

A complaint was filed by a group of citizens accusing the real estate company of cheating by promising them flats in the New Town.

Jahan, a former director of the company, claimed to have resigned in 2017 after paying her debt to the company.

"The company, which I had quit in 2017, had given me a loan but I have returned it back with interest. I have all my bank statements," Nussrat said at a press conference at Kolkata Press Club for "clarification".

"I have the details of my bank transactions. If someone needs to check, they can approach the court for a copy," said the TMC MP flashing the documents. "I am three hundred percent away from corruption," she had added.

Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee has once again received an appearance summons from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the school recruitment scam case whose money trail the agency is probing. But it’s the appearance date that has made the party’s second in command turn livid.

The ED, also probing the money trails of the alleged teacher recruitment scandal in government-sponsored schools across the state, has asked TMC's national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee to appear for another round of questioning on Sept 13.

The day also coincided with the date of the first scheduled meeting of the coordination committee of the INDIA alliance of opposition parties which is scheduled to take place in New Delhi on Wednesday.
