PM Modi inaugurates extension of Delhi Airport Metro Express line

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Sunday, officially inaugurated the extension of the Delhi Airport Metro Express line, extending it from Dwarka Sector 21 to a newly named metro station, YashoBhoomi Dwarka Sector 25.

Ahead of the inauguration of the Delhi Airport Metro Express line extension, travelled in the Delhi Metro.

After the inauguration, the prime minister engaged in discussions with the Delhi Metro personnel.

The extension of the Delhi Airport Metro Express Line is nearly 2 km long.

The YashoBhoomi metro station will have three subways. One spanning 735 meters to link the station with the convention center, Central Arena, and exhibition halls; a second connecting the entry/exit across the Dwarka Motorway; and a third linking the Metro station to the foyer of the upcoming Yashobhoomi exhibition halls.

In addition, Delhi Metro intends to reduce travel time by elevating the operating speed of Metro trains on the Airport Express Line from 90 to 120 km/hr. This enhancement will allow for a travel duration of approximately 21 minutes between "New Delhi" and "Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25."

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the first phase of the India International Convention Centre (IICC), named YashoBhoomi in Dwarka, built at an investment of Rs 5,400 crore.

Spanning an expansive area of more than 73,000 square meters, the cutting-edge convention center includes 15 conference spaces, featuring the primary auditorium, a spacious ballroom, and 13 additional meeting rooms. It has the capacity to accommodate up to 11,000 delegates.
