Chandrababu Naidu arrest: TDP legislators create ruckus in Andhra Pradesh Assembly
Vijayawada/UNI: Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLAs created ruckus in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly on the opening day of the monsoon session on Thursday.
The TDP legislators rushed to the Speaker's podium holding placards and raised slogans denouncing the arrest of TDP National President N Chandrababu Naidu in the alleged multi-crore AP State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) Scam.
The TDP members insisted on the Speaker Tammineni Sitaram to allow a debate on the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu.
The TDP legislators rushed to the podium and threw papers towards Sitaram.
Chaotic scenes prevailed in the house for some time.
The TDP members raised slogans demanding the lifting of all cases registered against party National President and former Chief Minister Naidu.
TDP MLA-cum-Actor N Balakrishna twirled his moustache, challenging the ruling YSRCP MLAs, which further created chaos in the house.
Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy informed the house that they are ready for debate on the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu.
Minister for Irrigation Ambati Rambabu said Balakrishna could twirl his moustache in films but not in the house.
The acts of the TDP MLAs might lead to untoward incidents in the house, he said.
The TDP members were provoking the ruling party legislators, he stated.
The Minister said, "It seems the TDP members’ intention was to manhandle the Speaker. The Chandrababu Naidu arrest issue should be resolved in the Courts but not in the Assembly."
Meanwhile, similar scenes were witnessed in the Legislative Council. The TDP MLCs rushed to the Chairman’s podium and raised slogans decrying the arrest of Naidu.
They obstructed the question hour in the Council as well.
