Pune/UNI: A delegation, led by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena president Raj Thackeray, met Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and raised issues regarding toll hike and congestion at toll booths and other facilities.

The residents living in housing societies of Mulund, Thane, who came with the delegation, met the Chief Minister on Thursday. A detailed discussion was held regarding the toll.

They demanded that contractors should provide necessary facilities at the toll booths as per the contract, as well as provide necessary sanitary facilities, ambulances, first aid facilities, cranes and cleanliness of toilets should be maintained.

The Chief Minister directed Radheshyam Mopalwar, managing director of MSRDC, who, along with the representatives of the delegation, should inspect the facilities at the toll booths from tomorrow (Friday).

When it was brought to notice that contractors shall ensure that vehicles do not queue up to yellow barriers at the toll booths, the Chief Minister gave instructions to hire additional manpower for this purpose.

Shinde was also directed to conduct videography to count the number of vehicles coming and going at all five toll booths in the Mumbai area.

The Chief Minister also directed to carry out a structural audit of the flyovers, bridges and subways on the toll road.

On the topic of houses for police personnel, the Chief Minister said that it is the role of the state government that CIDCO has been given a target of 5,000 houses so that police can get the right houses.
