Jammu and Kashmir: Police inspector shot, hurt by suspected terrorists in Srinagar

A Jammu and Kashmir police officer was shot at by militants in Eidgah area of Srinagar's old city on Sunday, officials said.

The police officer has been identified as Inspector Masroor Ahmad and was shifted to hospital for treatment, police said.

“Preliminary investigation reveals that a pistol was used in this terror crime,” police said.

The area has been cordoned off to track the attackers and a case registered in the regard, they added.

“Terrorists fired upon & injured Inspector Masroor Ahmad near Eidgah, Srinagar. He was immediately shifted to hospital for treatment. Preliminary #investigation reveals that a pistol was used in this #terror crime. Area cordoned off, case registered,” police said on X.
