Andhra Pradesh: Several trains cancelled, diverted following accident

Vijayawada/UNI: Several trains have either been cancelled, or diverted, or short terminated following the accident in Andhra Pradesh, the Southern Railway said on Monday.

In a release here, the railway said The 17243 Guntur-Rayagada, 17239 Guntur-Visakhapatnam, 17267 Kakinada Port-Visakhapatnam, 17268 Visakhapatnam-Kakinada Port, 07466 Rajahmundry-Visakhapatnam, 07467 Visakhapatnam-Rajahmundry, 12718 Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam, and 12717 Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada passenger trains were cancelled.

The 03357 Barauni Coimbatore, 18189 TATA Ernakulam, 412703 Howrah-Secunderabad, Secunderabad 12245 Howrah SMVT Bengaluru trains were diverted.

The 20809 Sambalpur H.S.Nanded, 17479 Puri-Tirupati, 11019 Mumbai CSMT-Bhubaneswar have been short-terminated.

11020 Bhubaneswar-Mumbai CSMT, Bhubaneswar–Visakhapatnam. The following trains were rescheduled. 12863 Howrah SMVT Bengaluru, 12867 Howrah Puducherry, 12839 Howrah Chennai Central,22642 Shalimar Trivandrum were partially cancelled.

At least 14 passengers were killed when the Visakhapatnam-Palasa (08532) passenger train was rammed at the rear end by the Visakhapatnam-Rayagada (08504) passenger train between Kantakapalli and Alamanda stations on Sunday evening.
