'It's Modi’s guarantee that every poor family in India will have a pucca house': PM in Odisha rally

Sambalpur: The Interim Budget has provided a guarantee for the development of all sections of people in the country, particularly the poor people, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday while addressing a rally in Odisha's Sambalpur.

Addressing a massive gathering at 'Guarantee Samavesh’ at Remed Ground, on the outskirts of the city, he said, “Modi’s Guarantee means 'Guarantee Pura Hone Ki Guarantee.'”

“‘Modi Ki Guarantee’ will ensure that every poor family in the country will have a pucca house,” he said.

“Over 4 crore poor families have been provided with pucca houses in the country and the centre has announced to construct 2 crore more pucca houses for the poor in the budget,” he said.

The BJP-led government at the centre has been working day and night to ensure that each poor family in the country will have a pucca house, Modi said.

The Prime Minister said his government’s priority is how to raise the income level of the poor and the farmers.

“The Interim Budget presented recently in the parliament,” he said, “is aimed at empowering the poor, women, youth.”

This Budget, Modi added, guarantees everybody’s development.

He said about 40 lakh farmers from Odisha have got direct benefits under the PM Kisan Saman Nidhi, and the government has transferred Rs 30,000 to each farmer’s account and ensured a hike in MSP.

The prime minister said before 2014, the Congress government had procured paddy worth Rs 36,000 crore from the farmers in the state but during the last ten years of the BJP government, the farmers have got Rs 1.10 lakh crore towards MSP.

He came down heavily on Congress for neglecting the tribal people and using them as their vote bank but the BJP government had given them importance and increased the budget allocation for the development of the tribal areas during the last ten years.

The PM said it is the BJP which has recognised the tribal community and made Droupadi Murmu as President of India.

While the entire world listened carefully when she addressed the Parliament three days back it was the Congress and their allies “who insulted the entire tribal community and the people of Odisha by insulting Droupadi Murmu Ji.”

“The BJP government is taking all steps to empower the fishermen in the country,” he said.

Modi said the launch of infrastructure projects worth around Rs 70,000 crores in Odisha on Saturday in the sectors encompassing education, railways, roads, electricity and petroleum made the day very special.

“These projects in Odisha, the PM claimed will boost the energy sector involving natural gas, coal and power generation apart from important projects of road, railway and higher education sector,” he said.

The poor, labourers, working class, business owners and farmers among all other sections of society will reap the benefits of today’s development projects.

He further added that it will also create thousands of new employment opportunities for the youth of Odisha.

Odisha has greatly benefited from the policies made by the Central Government in the last 10 years, Modi added.
