Violence is spreading across country due to injustice by Modi govt: Rahul Gandhi
Chandauli (UP)/IBNS/UNI: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Friday attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that the incidents of violence were increasing in the country due to injustice.
The Congress leader was addressing a public meeting after his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which reached Naubatpur in Chandauli district, located on the Bihar border, was accorded a grand welcome by the office-bearers of the state and district Congress.
After transferring the flag to the stage, a public meeting was held under the leadership of Gandhi at the National Inter College in Saiyadraja town.
During the meeting, he said, "Two types of ideologies are running in the country. One unites brother with brother, and one makes brother hate brother. Through this journey, I have come to open a shop of love in the market of hatred."
"The government is not concerned with the problems of the poor and farmers. There is a continuous increase in violent incidents in the country, the main reason for which is injustice to farmers, the poor, women, and youth,"
He said that Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra is getting full support from the countrymen.
"A historic welcome is being accorded in the states through which the Yatra is passing. The purpose of the yatra is to make the failures of the Modi government at the center reach the public.
"The BJP is doing politics for Lord Ram. The President of the country, who comes from a poor and Dalit class, did not get a place during the consecration ceremony of Lord Ram, this shows the intention of the government," he said.
After the meeting, the former Congress President reached the martyr's place while traveling on foot, offered flowers at the statues of immortal martyrs, and left for the halt via Chandauli and Mughalsarai cities.
Congress state president Ajay Rai, senior leaders Pramod Tiwari and Jairam Ramesh, and other senior party officials, along with a large number of workers and common people, were present in the meeting.
